THE DIASPORA PROJECT

What does Diaspora Mean?

A diaspora is a community of people who live beyond their ancestral homeland while maintaining a connection to their cultural roots, shared history, and traditions.

It represents the ways people carry their heritage across borders and generations, preserving their identity while building lives in new places.

Although distance may separate people from their homeland, culture remains a powerful link to where they come from. A diaspora is not only about living away from home, but also about belonging to a community that connects the past, present, and future.

BUSINESS OF THE MONTH

Heavenly Bistro

TAMIR MARTINEZ

This month, we're highlighting Heavenly Bistro, owned by Tamir Martinez!

MEET THE FOUNDERS

Two sisters. One mission.

We're Enerel and Ashley, two Mongolian-American sisters who founded The Diaspora Project to make our culture more accessible. After years of practicing Mongolian dance, we wanted to create something that would help others connect with their heritage, too.

Enerel leads planning, creative direction, and social media, while Ashley designs and manages the website. Together, we're turning a shared passion into a growing community dedicated to celebrating and preserving Mongolian culture.

Different places. Same roots.

No matter where you are in the world, there are so many ways to stay connected to Mongolia.
